Christmas Traditions in Historic St. Charles
December 2 - 4, 2011
Often the Historic Town of St. Charles, Missouri is overshadowed by its bigger, arch-boasting sister to the east. . , but not during the Christmas Holiday season.  The town where Lewis and Clark met to begin their westward journey unveils a lively holiday festival upon its cobblestone streets.

Costumed characters and carolers stroll the streets as shoppers feast upon the quaint shops that reside in the historic buildings of Old St. Charles.  And, on the weekends, "The Santa Parade" marches through town, featuring over 40 victorian carolers, legends of Christmas, and international Christmas Characters.

A really neat part of the festival is that every member of Christmas Traditions has a unique "Character Card", featuring a picture and a short biography of that particular character.  Collecting these cards is a favorite activity of the festival visitors.

Another special (and very popular) activity occurs only once during the festival.  During Las Posadas, a candlelit procession strolls down the streets of
St. Charles, following behind a re-enactment of Mary and Joseph trying to find shelter for the night.  We've purposely scheduled our trip so that our guests will have a chance to attend Las Posadas if they choose.

Our trip will begin with a swift jaunt to Missouri, where 2-nights hotel accommodations located in the Historic District of St. Charles will place the parades and activities of Christmas Traditions within 2 short blocks.  After a narrated tour of the town, we'll be on our own for the rest of our time in
St. Charles to explore the many quaint shops as well as the festival activities at leisure.

For people who enjoy casino gaming, the casino is just a short walk away, too!

After our two nights in St. Charles, we'll begin our drive home.  But, the fun won't be over yet!
En route, we'll stop in the quiet town of New Harmony for a delightful luncheon at the Red Geranium restaurant.

WOW!  This Travel Crazy holiday trip is a whole lot of fun that you don't want to miss!  Make your reservation early for this one, we expect an early sell out!
