Classic New York
June 27 - July 1, 2011
New York is a hot destination.  Join Travel Crazy as we take a bite out of The Big Apple.

Our trip will begin as we motorcoach north into Pennsylvania where we will visit the Flight 93 Temporary Memorial.  Though the memorial will eventually be replaced with a permanent one, visiting this memorial is a stirring event you will never forget.

After an overnight stay in Pennsylvania, our welcome to New York will be similar to that of early immigrants.  We will motorcoach from Pennsylvania to Liberty State Park (in New Jersey), where boarding a ferryboat, we will visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.  Afterward, another ferry will bring us into Battery Park and the lower tip of Manhattan Island.  What a way to enter New York City for the first time!

Our Theater District Hotel Accommodations will provide easy access to most Manhattan theaters and the glitz and excitement of Times Square!

The following day, we will be joined by a knowledgeable guide for a full day of sightseeing in America's most exciting city.  Tour highlights will include extended stops at Ground Zero, the Empire State Building, Chinatown and Little Italy

In the evening, we will be whisked away into the spellbinding world of Broadway as we attend a Broadway Show (show selection not determined yet).

Our final day in New York will take us on a pleasant walking tour through Central Park, followed by a luncheon at Terrace in the Sky, a restaurant known for boasting of the best views in the city!  What a Grand Finale' to our visit in New York!

We'll depart Terrace in the Sky and begin our journey home, overnighting in Pennsylvania before returning to Kentucky the following day.

Back to New York
October 10 - 14, 2010
So, you've been to Manhattan with Travel Crazy before, but you're in the mood to go back.  Yet, you've already seen the Statue of Liberty, been to the top of the Empire State Building, eaten at Tavern on the Green, and walked through Central Park.  You want to do something different.

Our Back to New York trip has been designed just for you, featuring an assortment of new, unforgettable Big Apple Experiences.

Our trip will begin as we motorcoach northward, overnighting in Pennsylvania.  The following day, we will continue on, arriving at the Brooklyn Bridge at midday.  Here, we will encounter our first New York Experience as we drop off those wishing to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

This incredible 40 minute walk serves up stunning views of New York's skyline and is considered a must-do activity.  The vast majority of last year's Back to New York guests said this was their favorite activity!

From the Brooklyn Bridge, we'll wander into the Lower East Side for an extraordinary glimpse into the city's past through the eyes of early immigrants. During a tour of the Tenement Museum, we'll enter an actual tenement that, like a time capsule, allows guests to see how new arrivals to America lived their lives.

Our big city adventure continues as we check into our Theater District hotel accommodations, located a mere block from the glitz and glamour of Times Square.  Naturally, during one of two evenings in New York, we will be whisked away into the spellbinding world of Broadway when we attend a Broadway Show (show selection not determined yet).

The following day will begin with an intriguing visit to Rockefeller Center where we'll enjoy the historic NBC Studios tour.  Then, we'll savor a little known New York City treat as we take a ride on the Roosevelt Island Aerial Tram.  Though the classic red cable cars have been the setting for several Hollywood movie sequences, most visitors never take the time to hunt them out.  While riding the tram, we'll witness staggering views of Midtown Manhattan when the tram nears its peak.

Following time for lunch at iconic Grand Central Station, we'll head for The United Nations.  During our guided tour, It will be exciting to see firsthand the stunning General Assembly Hall where all of the nations of the world gather to conduct the organization's business.  Among tour highlights are
the opportunity to view the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and various exhibits from member countries.

Our final day in New York City will take us into one of the city's most interesting neighborhoods.  Joined by a local guide, we'll discover the fascinating history of Harlem, see the stomping ground of Duke Ellington, spot the Apollo Theater and the Cotton Club, and take a short stroll down a street lined with Brownstones.  A unique, uplifting experience will follow as we attend a live gospel performance and service at a Harlem church.

After the Hour of Power lets out, we will feast upon a sumptuous luncheon at Sylvia's restaurant. Harlem's most famous restaurant is recognized throughout the nation since Sylvia is better known as The Queen of Soul Food.

After our luncheon, we'll depart New York City and begin our journey home, overnighting in Somerset, Pennsylvania en route.  Before continuing our trip back to Kentucky, we will be offering a shuttle to the Flight 93 Temporary Memorial for those whom have never visited the site.
