Mississsippi River Fall Foliage Cruise
October 17 - 20, 2011
Join Travel Crazy for an entertaining fall trip to the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa.  As we motorcoach across the country to the Mighty Mississippi River, we'll enjoy 3 nights hotel accommodations at the Isle of Capri Casino in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Over 1,000 slot machines and table games grace the Isle of Capri, enticing guests to try their hand against Lack.  A complimentary shuttle from The Isle to the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport offers up an additional 900 machines for guests to enjoy.

To enhance our casino/hotel stay, The Isle will be providing us with two breakfast buffets and one dinner buffet.

The actual centerpiece of our Quad Cities trip is an all-day sightseeing cruise upon the Mississippi River.  The Riverboat Celebration Belle will play host to our Mississippi River excursion, traversing more than 70 miles during its Fall Foliage quest from LeClaire, Iowa to Dubuque, Iowa.

In addition to showcasing a full day of ever-changing views on the Mighty Mississippi, Celebration's captain will dot the journey with narration; his crew will offer live entertainment, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an afternoon snack.  As our 11-hour river cruise comes to an end in Dubuque, Iowa, our motorcoach driver will pick us up and return us back to our hotel in Bettendorf.

Following our full day of cruising on the river, we'll haunt out some of Quad City local points of interest.  During a guided tour of Arsenal Island, we'll discover a place that once served as a Confederate Prison Camp, and was also an active manufacturer of military equipment since the 1880's.  We'll also have the opportunity to visit the Rock Island Arsenal Museum--second oldest military museum in the United States.

A visit to the Mississippi River Visitors Center, will find us joining a narrated Lock and Dam tour.  The guided tour will walk us onto a lock while explaining the fascinating process of navigating the passage.

We'll finish our area sightseeing with a visit to the   John Deere Pavilion.  Here, we'll learn of the midwestern man who transformed the face of American agriculture.

Our Fall trip to the Quad Cities and the Mississippi River will come to a close as we leave the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf behind and begin our drive back to Kentucky.
