The Indiana Uplands Wine Trail

The Indiana Uplands is the very first Wine Trail trip that we ever conducted. And, we're repeating it in 2010, giving our newest wine trail trip fans the perfect opportunity to catch up with the rest of the wine trail crowd! It's also a great chance for those whom have never attended one to sample our very popular series of trips--to see if it's as fun as everybody says it is!
Nine wineries make up this trail, beckoning visitors to leisurely explore the beautiful Southern and Central Indiana countryside while traveling from winery to winery, sampling their wines and learning about the winemaking industry in the state of Indiana. Of the nine wineries, we will be visiting six.
In addition to tastings, interacting with winemakers, and touring some of the facilities, our guests will receive a complimentary souvenir wine glass at each winery!
Our trip will begin with a swift jump to Corydon, where we will visit Turtle Run Winery. Afterward, we will continue on to Winzerwald Winery in Bristow, then to the French Lick Winery in French Lick. Our first day will come to an end as we check into our overnight accommodations at the luxurious French Lick Resort and Casino.
French Lick Resort has recently undergone a renovation and expansion, returning the Historic Hotel to its past magnificence. Included in our hotel package is a dinner and breakfast buffet for each member of our group.
The following day, we’ll begin with a visit to Carousel Winery in Bedford. Then, we’ll continue on to Bloomington where we’ll call upon Butler Winery and Oliver Winery. We'll conclude our trip with a drive back to Kentucky, enjoying the colors of Fall as we head for home.
This particular wine trail trip has sold out extremely early in prior years! Groups wishing to participate are encouraged to book early!

Finger Lakes Wine Country
More than 100 wineries and vineyards flank the narrow sapphire bodies of water known as the Finger Lakes. Visitors from all across the country journey here to sample wines from The Empire State's largest wine producing region while relishing the natural beauty and charming small towns in the area. Throughout this relaxing 6-day Travel Crazy vacation, we'll set out to discover why this part of Central New York is such a very special place.
During our trip, we will be making direct drives to and from Bath, NY, a small town that we will be utilizing as a hub for our activities while in the Finger Lakes region.
Since visiting the vineyards is such an important part of the Finger Lakes experience, we will be setting aside two full days for calling upon various wineries sitting along and surrounding Seneca and Keuka lakes. Some of them are perched upon hills overlooking the lake; others sit down on the lake itself. Some are stately establishments boasting proud histories; others are youngsters to the industry, offering guests a more casual tasting experience.
Throughout our four days of touring, we will be visiting at least 10 wineries, including Bully Hill Vineyards, Dr Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars, Pleasant Valley Wine, Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards, Three Brothers Wineries, Belhurst Winery, Torrey Ridge Winery, and Earle Estates Meadery. But, visiting wineries isn't all that we'll be doing while in the area.
One day, we'll enjoy a sightseeing cruise on Seneca Lake. And on another, we'll savor a delightful luncheon at the awe-inspiring Belhurst Castle.
At Watkins Glen State Park, we'll come across a trail that offers amazing views at every turn to those whom walk up or down the gorge. The pathway affords visitors views of 19 different spectacular, cascading waterfalls along a 90-minute leisurely journey. This attraction is considered the "natural gem" of Finger Lakes.
And, we'll spend some time browsing the shops in the quaint town of Corning, New York, home of the Corning Museum of Glass.
During our visit to the notable Corning museum, we'll be contracting the services of a docent to give us a guided tour of the museum before suiting up to make our very own glass blown ornament--the perfect keepsake and souvenir for our Finger Lakes vacation.
